Anticipated Plano Restaurant Openings in 2020

Plano continues to prove itself a solid pillar in the Metroplex restaurant community. And with even more new eatery and watering hole concepts coming to town, there’s plenty to get excited about. Here are nine of the most anticipated restaurants on the way.

151 Coffee

Owners of this coffee brainchild opened the first store in 2017, but the first Plano site will launch in the old PDQ fast food stop. Once open, 151 Coffee will offer coffee and blended energy drinks.

Bar-Ranch Steak Co.

The dry-aged beef retail shop and deli will open in the previous Dude Sweet Chocolate location. Selling both directly to the public and wholesale to restaurants, Bar-Ranch Steak Co. will feature a rotating menu of various dry-aged beef sandwiches and burgers.

Beerhead Bar & Eatery

The American craft beer establishment will open its first Texas location and serve upscale bar food, 400 bottles and 50 brews on tap. Local breweries like Bishop Cider, Panther Island, Deep Ellum, Four Corner and more will have a presence on Beerhead’s drink menu.

Permits have been filed with the city for a Plano location of HTeaO in the former Wholesome Grub space. The Midland, Texas-based franchise offers many flavors of ice teas, brewed fresh hourly.

Jolibees

The largest fast food chain in the Philippines is coming. Jollibees will have burgers, fried chicken, hotdogs, spaghetti and rice items on its menu. These stacked meals, some of which feature multiple signature dishes, are sure to keep hungry customers satisfied.

Ohashi

The long-anticipated Japanese restaurant has pushed back its opening to 2020. After Ohashi joins The District’s dynamic dining scene, guests can enjoy high-quality sushi and delicious drinks from the bar.

Uncle Zhou

A Queens, NY cult favorite is headed south, and bringing Chinese Henan flavors along for the ride. With a few Michelin Guide recommendations under its belt, Uncle Zhou is set to impress with dishes like lamb dumplings, dial oil noodles and spicy chicken.

We’ve reported this one before, but this is the year that husband-and-wife team Bonnie and Nathan Shea will open their third dining concept. Urban Seafood Co., the sister restaurant of Urban Crust and Urban Rio, promises to shell out the freshest fish, clams, mussels, oysters and lobsters in town.

Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco will open its second Plano location in the Steve Fields Steak & Lobster Lounge’s former spot. The drive-through eatery will offer more than 20 globally-inspired taco options, including the Cuban pig, falafel, and spicy chicken tikka, as well as its “kick-ass” margaritas, craft beers and sodas.
