Alliance Data Presents My Possibilities Annual Community Ball June 16

On Saturday, June 16, approximately 1,400 DFW area residents will gather alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) at the 5th annual Community Ball to celebrate 10 years of My Possibilities (MP), a Plano-based for-cause organization designed to provide adults with IDD the opportunity to continue their education.

MP provides programs that focus on socialization, vocational and trade training, and independent living skills to Hugely Important People (HIPsters.) These skills equip HIPsters with the knowledge and confidence needed to achieve the life they deserve. My Possibilities’ mission is to relentlessly and courageously pursue the untapped possibilities of these Hugely Important People, making every day count.

MP is proud to announce Alliance Data as the Community Ball Presenting Sponsor for the fifth year. This annual gala raises funds for various programs at MP. The Community Ball remains a collaboration between MP and several North Texas organizations, families and individuals in support of continued higher education for adults with IDD. On June 16, the black-tie optional event will take place at the Embassy Suites in Frisco.

“Alliance Data is committed to strengthening local economies, engaging our workforce, and building a vibrant, more resilient society. We also believe in engaging individuals and educating corporations so they can empower others,” said Karen Wald, Alliance Data senior vice president of corporate affairs and chief of staff. “My Possibilities is an exceptional organization providing curriculum and career training and vocational resources to adults with various abilities. We are proud to continue serving as the presenting sponsor of the annual Community Ball.”

Berry Family Services, another long-time partner and sponsor of My Possibilities, is this year’s HIPster Sponsor. Additional notable event sponsors include Carol Troesh and Weeks Law Firm. Continued support from various North Texas organizations displays commitment toward educational programs for adults with IDD.

“It is remarkable to see the community give great support to My Possibilities,” said Charmaine Solomon, founder and chairperson of the My Possibilities’ board. “Once again, Alliance Data continues to support and honor our HIPsters as the event’s Presenting Sponsor. We also want to recognize Berry Family Services for underwriting our HIPsters for the evening, Men’s Wearhouse and the Prom Closet from St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church for inviting HIPsters to fittings and providing event attire, and many other supportive organizations.”

“There is no way to truly thank all of the businesses, donors, parents and volunteers that have spent countless hours working to make the Community Ball a continued success,” Solomon added. “With the support of our friends within the community, My Possibilities continues to grow and reach new heights in the programs and resources we offer that make a real difference in the lives of North Texans with special needs.”

This year, the Community Ball is themed “Green Diamond Gala” to reflect the tenth anniversary and My Possibilities’ signature color. The event begins at 6 p.m. on June 16 with a red-carpet entrance for all HIPsters and ends at 10 p.m. Dance the night away with HIPsters and live music provided by Manhattan Sound.
