Ready to leave the corporate grind and be your own boss? Willow Bend is ready for you!
Now through Friday, April 19, Willow Bend is encouraging local entrepreneurs to submit their innovative ideas to its latest Battle of the Pop-Up contest. The winning entrepreneur receives prizes including four months of free rent in the mall, a $500 merchandising package and more.
“We are thrilled to support established and budding entrepreneurs who have great ideas and simply need that first place to test our their ideas,” said Amy Medford, Willow Bend marketing director. “This is the third time we’re offering the Battle of the Pop-Up, and each time the ideas have been amazing – like winner Nikita Hemani and Saurabh Rao’s concept called Simba’s Barkery, a bakery for dogs, and Natalia Jones’ Natalia Veronica, which offers home decor, accessories and art. We can’t wait to see the concepts that people submit this time.”
The winner receives four months of rent-free space in Willow Bend, use of existing mall or store fixtures, and free utilities. Additional prizes include a $500 merchandising package that includes interior signage, table-printed displays and graphic design services.
To enter, participants must be prepared to obtain a business license by Monday, July 1, 2019 and operate their business during mall hours from Monday, July 1, 2019 through Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019. Entries will be judged on business strategy, concept creativity and likelihood of profitability, among other criteria.
The deadline for entries is Friday, April 19; there is no cost to enter. Applicants may enter one of three ways:
