Beyond Veggies Grill opens Jan. 7 giving diners a new healthy option in Plano.
The fast-casual restaurant is owned by locals Nathan and Cici Hanson. After a bout with cancer, Cici said she began thinking more about what she put into her body. More health-conscious choices led her to a flexitarian diet, where she still eats meat occasionally, but incorporates many vegetarian and vegan meals into her diet.
“We were floored when we tried Beyond plant-based meat. It was just as good as the real deal,” Cici said. “Not only are we satisfied by the delicious taste, but also rejoice feeling that increase in energy and ease on our digestion.”
Cici and Nathan are no strangers to the restaurant business. They share a background working in several restaurants, and also own a smoothie business.
At Beyond Veggies Grill, guests can build their own entree, choosing from a bowl, wrap, taco or salad, then adding their choice of protein (chicken, beef or plant-based), veggies and sauce. Beer is also offered on six rotating taps, with $1.50 specials 4-7 p.m. daily.
Beyond Veggies Grill is located along Dallas North Tollway in the former space of 24 Hot Chicken, and is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.Beyond Veggies Grill >
