Canine Republic

For many folks, finding the right place to leave their dog for an overnight stay isn’t easy. Owners want a place that treats their beloved pet like family. Established in 2014, Canine Republic’s mission is to be the gold standard in the dog care industry. Clearly the community has noticed; Plano Magazine readers have voted Canine Republic a Best of Plano Magazine award winner three years straight.

Owner Ash Vaughan decided years ago that a change of pace was just what he needed. As loving dad to French bulldogs Peanut, Mavis and Charlie, he already knew what discriminating pet owners wanted in a daycare and boarding facility. So he left a career in motorcycle sales and marketing to create Canine Republic, a premiere dog resort for pups of all ages, sizes and personalities.

Pop into Canine Republic anytime for a tour and find three levels of suites for overnight stays, designed for each owner’s budget and needs: junior suites, executive suites and lodge suites. The junior and executive suites look like traditional kennels while the lodge suite resembles a small hotel room, complete with private entrance and perks like a TV to keep a pet company.

Whether a dog is staying for several days or several hours, suites share a feature that ensures top-notch care: An extremely detailed chart gives caretakers every bit of information they could ever need about the pet. Bandit doesn’t like his left side scratched? Eats poop? Canine Republic is always looking out for his safety, health and happiness.

The entire facility is cleaned twice daily, has 24/7 video monitoring and keeps pet moms and dads updated with photos posted to social media. In addition to spacious indoor and outdoor play yards, a Paw Spa, elevated beds and relaxing music, another impressive feature is a separate wing for elderly pets, which is quieter and more secluded.

When asked what raises Canine Republic to a higher level than other daycare and boarding places in Plano, Ash replied that it’s really due to his staff. All employees are animal lovers, and some were even impressed customers first, before coming on as staff. Ash said that at Canine Republic, “teamwork makes the dream work.”
