Char’d Now Open at CityLine

CityLine has announced that Char’d Southeast Asian Kitchen is now open at 1251 State Street. This is the second location for the locally owned business, with the original spot located in Mansfield.

“We are thrilled for the opening of Char’d. CityLine guests now have a new style and culture of food to experience,” said Jessica Robertson, director of marketing for CityLine. “We are excited for the plethora of options along State Street, giving CityLine guests several food and drink options to experience.”

Char’d, a fast-casual restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian influenced cuisine, prides itself on providing customers the freedom to mix and match different flavors.

“It’s like an Asian Chipotle,” joked one of the restaurant’s owners, Dominic Doan. Char’d is a family affair, owned and operated by siblings Dominic, Martin, Joseph, Paul and Mary Doan.

Guests can build their own bowls, choosing a base, protein, veggies, sauce and toppings, all made in-house with fresh ingredients. Protein options include Angus beef, organic chicken, responsibly raised pork and organic tofu. This freedom allows the restaurant to accommodate various dietary lifestyles, including Keto, Paleo and gluten-free. Guests can also choose from pre-designed bowls like Vietnamese Grilled Pork or Bibimbap.

Smaller, craveable “simple bites” include eggrolls, edamame, bao buns (covered with the most amazing Firecracker sauce) and Nom Fries. Char’d also offers made-from-scratch ice cream flavors of green tea, ube (purple yam), mango and coconut. Authentic matcha from Japan will be used in the green tea ice cream. Char’d offers various drink options, including Stubborn natural sodas, craft and Asian beers and wine.

“We chose to open at CityLine because its full of young professionals who embrace food from other cultures while also caring about their health and the food they put in their bodies. We look forward to serving this booming population,” said Martin Doan.

Char’d’s interior design includes a full-length mural wall designed by artist Craig Grimston. Custom-made furniture with sleek wood table tops, including two bar height tables that seat 16 people, offer various seating options for guests.
