Take a break from the summer heat at the 33rd Annual Friends of the Plano Public Library Book Sale! Eagerly anticipated by area booklovers, the sale runs August 5-7 at the Plano Centre. Browse through nearly 100,000 gently used books, DVDs, music CDs, books on CD, records and more – all priced at $2 or less. From children’s books to travel guides to beach reads and much more, the book sale has something for everyone.
Last year, the sale generated more than $44,000 to support new technology in the libraries including iPads, MacBooks, littleBits, Cubelets, BeeBots and more; programs for all ages; eBooks and eMagazines; and start-up funding for the new AIRSpace (artist in residence) at Harrington Library.
Friends of the Plano Library members enjoy free admission and an hour of exclusive shopping time from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday BEFORE the doors open to the general public. The first night offers the best selection and admission is only $5 per person or $10 for families. Admission is free for everyone on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday admission is free and bargain hunters can shop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for only $10 per bag. Visit Friends of the Plano Public Library for more information and put the sale on your calendar.
The Plano Sunrise Rotary Club, a long time supporting partner of the Book Sale, will collect non-perishable food items, benefiting Food 4 Plano Kids and the North Texas Food Bank, each day during the Book Sale Event.
