Legacy Hall: A Guide to What’s Opening in 2017

The launch of Legacy Hall is perhaps the most widely anticipated food event in Plano (heck, maybe all of DFW) this year. Big name chefs and new local entrepreneurs alike are excited to put their own spin on the 55,000 square-foot dining complex, expected to open by early fall.

Legacy Hall will include a massive three-story food complex; located at Legacy West, it will be operated by Front Burner Restaurants, the group who brought Sixty Vines, Mexican Sugar and Whiskey Cake to Plano.

Connected to the food hall will be a three-level beer garden called the Box Garden, with shipping containers repurposed to divide and decorate the space. In addition to a Texas BBQ stand, four thirst-quenching concepts will call the Box Garden home: a Hawaiian shaved ice stall, a Tiki bar, a Texas-style icehouse bar and a margarita/beer bar.

Anchoring the Box Garden is a 22- by 30-foot stage with attached green room, large enough to support everyone from local bands to national acts. They are billing this stage area as a live entertainment venue, which extends beyond music and could include even so much as Saturday morning yoga classes.

The food hall will offer 21 stalls and two bars on the ground level. One bar will focus on craft beer and craft cocktails while the other will feature wine and charcuterie. Those areas lead up to the second level, which boasts a seafood stall, a full-service bar and seating for about 500 people, complete with an outdoor balcony overlooking the Box Garden. The third level is slated to host Unlawful Assembly Brewing Co., an onsite craft beer brewery and taproom.
