Back-to-school looks a lot different for most kids this year, and Legacy West has gotten creative to help students and parents experience the fun, sentimental parts of starting a new school year. Coined “Legacy West University,” the events in the series are all provided free of charge to the public, but require an advance registration.

Democracy Class
On Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6-8 p.m., Legacy West University will be partnering with Rock the Vote and local attorney Jessica Vittorio to teach a Democracy Class. This non-partisan event is meant to inspire voters for the upcoming election, and can help register any eligible Texans to vote if they are not yet registered. This event will be hosted at Neighborhood Goods, and spots are limited so be sure to sign up here.

Friday Night Lights, Sort of
Starting Friday, Sept. 11, Legacy West University will be offering an appropriate replacement for those missing out on high school or college football games. On Friday nights, football-themed movies will be shown at a “rooftop theater” on the sixth-floor parking garage of Legacy West. The movies will be screened on a 30-foot outdoor screen. Grab your concessions to-go from any of the nearby Legacy West restaurants, and arrive early for a pre-movie pep rally with performances by local artists. Spots are limited so be sure to sign up in advance. This will be a seated event, but hosts recommend you bring your own chair. Sign up here.

First Day Photos
On Sunday, Aug. 30 and Sept. 13 from 9:30-11:30 a.m., get your “first day” photo taken by a local professional photographer, Victoria Saperstein. Legacy West University has a life-size LWU locker as well as colorful stacks of lockers for backdrops. Photos are complimentary, but you’ll need to sign up to get your photo taken. Sign up here.
