Lumin Health Ribbon Cutting in Plano

Lumin Health celebrated its new Plano location at 4090 Mapleshade Lane with a Plano Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on Nov. 3. The medical facility, which opened to the public on Sept. 1, was also recognized by the City of Plano.

Serving in locations all over the Metroplex, Lumin Health houses LuminCARE, Minimally Invasive SpineCare, OrthoCare, PainCare, Lumin ER and Star Medical Center. Specialties range from family care to pain management to bariatric surgery — all at convenient locations. The health center has plans to grow its facilities well into 2017 by adding more freestanding emergency rooms as well as up to 30 LuminCARE primary care clinics in Dallas/Fort Worth in the near future.

World-renowned spine surgeon Dr. Douglas Won founded Lumin Health with the intention to enlighten healthcare providers and patients.

What sets Lumin Health apart is that the delivery of care is provided much more efficiently, Dr. Won explained. For example, patients’ electronic records are all on one database. If they are given a specialist referral, they are able to see a specialist within 24-48 hours.

“Healthcare these days is so fragmented. Patients are going to one doctor in one system and then another specialist somewhere else,” Dr. Won said. “We are able to provide the true continuity of care.”
