Modern Market

The newest Modern Market Eatery in West Plano invites guests to “eat modern.” But what exactly does that mean? Eating modern means eating food that is flavorful, fresh and made from scratch, but is also affordable and served fast. At Modern Market Eatery it means food that makes you feel great.

The Colorado-based, fast-fine restaurant recently opened in Plano’s Polo Towne Crossing shopping center on the Dallas North Tollway. It joins five other Modern Market Eatery restaurants in the Metroplex, including a second in Plano at Preston Road and Sam Rayburn Tollway, and others in Richardson, Southlake, Irving and Preston Hollow.

Modern Market serves good-for-you salads, warm bowls, sandwiches and pizzas made from pure and simple ingredients grown to taste amazing and leave you feeling … well, happy. When your food is tasty and also healthy, you simply feel better.

The restaurants operate within a network of farmers, ranchers and suppliers who use sustainable practices. Antibiotics, additives and anything artificial have no place in the food or our bellies. Owners are clearly passionate about the positive impact their food can make on guests. At Modern Market, whole ingredients, similar to what can be found at a farmers market, come in one door and inspired meals go out the other.

Modern Market also sets itself apart from other restaurants by obsessing over the details of everything it does. Its chicken? It took three years to source and two more to perfect the seasoning. Tomatoes? Management tried 30 varieties before choosing the perfect one.

“We often do things the hard way because we think it tastes just a little better,” explains co-founder Anthony Pigliacampo. “Little details matter to us, a lot. You’ll taste it in the food.”

It can certainly be tasted in Modern Market’s Buddha Bowl, a grain bowl filled with warm rice, spicy broccoli, citrus slaw, carrots, peanuts and sesame glazed tofu, all topped with house-made peanut-mango dressing. This was originally a seasonal item (new seasonal items roll out three times a year) but it was so popular it was kept on the menu permanently.

Speaking of seasonal items, the Pearl Sugar Waffle is a new addition to the winter menu. Topped with house-made blueberry chia jam, it’s a delicious meal day and night – breakfast fan or not. Another standout is the breakfast burrito made with Colorado green chili. (For all you green chili lovers, it’s legit!)

Modern Market serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For convenience, meals can be ordered online for pickup or delivery. Modern Market offers hot meals catered to your location, which can be a lifesaver during long lunch meetings at the office. It’s like eating a homecooked meal, with a variety of warm proteins and sides like roasted veggies and mashed potatoes.

Guests with dietary restrictions never need to worry at Modern Market. Paleo, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free or just plain hungry diners can always find something delicious waiting at Modern Market Eatery.
