On June 26, Plano Fire-Rescue recognized the achievements of several outstanding members of Explorers Post 215 for making positive impacts in our community.

Explorers Post 215 is a group comprised of young adults ranging in ages 14-20 who have an interest in pursing a career in fire and emergency medical services. The group receives firsthand experience in the field and participates in a variety of activities and service projects. The goal of the program is to promote character development, leadership and organizational skills for its members.

Plano Fire-Rescue Explorers Post 215 began in 1988 from a partnership between Boy Scouts of America and Plano Fire-Rescue. Today, it is one of the largest and most active fire posts in North Texas. Post 215 offers Plano-area youth immersive and empowering experiences while providing public safety agencies with potential recruits that have proven abilities to make a positive impact within their communities.

Each year, Post leaders honor the achievements of its members and thank those that have supported its efforts. This year’s awards included Explorer of the Year, Leadership by Example and Service Before Self. Post 215 values integrity, excellence, service, professionalism, growth, leadership and teamwork, and the Plano Fire-Rescue team wanted to award members who exemplified those traits.
