Flags of Honor Veterans Day Tribute

Flags of Honor will will pay tribute to Plano veterans with 1,000 American flags at Oak Point Park. A one-hour program each day of Veterans Day weekend is open to the public and will feature local speakers and patriotic music at the park. Randy Wright, Plano East Rotary Club’s Administration Chair, said the project was initiated by the club to “provide a positive, patriotic display to honor and support all who serve in the military – active, retired and killed in action – and Police and Fire.” Read more on the event here.

Saturday, Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. // Veteran’s Day Celebration
Speakers: Hon. Van Taylor, Texas Senator; Greg Rushin, Plano Police Chief; Sam Greif, Plano Fire Chief
Music performed by Saturday Singers

Sunday, Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m. // Memorial Celebration
Speakers: Ean Sullivan, Retired, USMC; Major General Keith Thurgood, US Army Retired
Music performed by Ladies Liberty
