Free Health Insurance Assistance for Collin County Residents
Free assistance will be provided at an event in Collin County to help residents enroll in a health care plan within the Affordable Care Act (ACA) healthcare marketplace. The event, which is organized by the Adam Bell for Congress Campaign, will take place on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Harrington Public Library, 1501 18th St. in Plano.
Open enrollment, the time when people can re-enroll for 2018 or sign up for coverage for the first time, will run from Nov. 1 – Dec. 15, 2017. At this event, certified assisters and licensed health insurance brokers will be on hand to help people navigate the choices and requirements, and help them sign up for a plan.
The event is aimed at helping people who do not have health insurance provided by their employer and do not qualify for Medicaid.
“Now, more than ever, we need to step up and help people who qualify for coverage under the ACA to obtain that coverage, and that is why we are holding this event,” says Adam Bell, Democratic candidate for Congress in Texas’ 3rd congressional district, which covers most of Collin County.
There will be no charge for assistance at the event. For more information and to register, contact Ben Gold at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 469-767-1354.
