Parts of the restaurant industry have evolved due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that includes the upswing in ghost kitchens, kitchens that operate delivery or to-go service only with no dining room. Sarah’s Hot Chicken, a delivery-only concept from the creators of Fish City Grill, is now officially open in Plano.

Sarah’s Hot Chicken is a Nashville-inspired eatery that creates an array of chicken dishes from scratch every day. The creators kept the delivery aspect in mind as they strategized the menu, citing that chicken is the best food group for delivery in terms of longevity and staying hot, according to DoorDash.

“For a dyed-in-the-wool seafood company to create a new virtual concept that offers a menu line that is completely out of its wheelhouse is unique,” shared Fish City Grill co-founder Bill Bayne. “We strategically developed the Sarah’s Hot Chicken concept to reach a new and broader clientele, and to drive sales during these challenging times.”

The top item on the menu is Sarah’s Hot Chicken Sandwich, a sandwich that includes chicken that has been brined for 24 hours before cooking. Options for heat level include Naked, Sissy, Hot & Spicy or Damn Hot. Other menu items include Hot Tenders & Fries, a Shrimp Oh Boy! Sandwich and the Hot Chick Salad. Sides include fries, coleslaw and mac & cheese. They also have an array of sauces to choose from for dipping your chicken.

This concept began in Lakeland, Florida in December, and Plano is the first city beyond Lakeland to receive a Sarah’s Hot Chicken location. Orders can be placed now through Sarah’s Hot Chicken’s website or through DoorDash. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
