The ArtCentre of Plano will host its second annual Mother’s Day Tea and Garden Party at its home, the Saigling House, 902 E. 16th St., Plano, TX 75075 on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 2 p.m. Women of all ages are invited to gather for a delightful tea tasting on the grounds of the ArtCentre featuring a special tea blend, Essence of Apricot, created for the ArtCentre by the Cultured Cup, a nationally renowned online tea and gourmet coffee retailer and wholesaler, and delicious tea delicacies created by Plano’s Central Market. Sponsors of the event include Medical City Plano, Central Market, Taylor Rental and Plano Magazine.
Marilyn Brooks, former Plano ISD administrator and ArtCentre Board Member is chairing the event. She said, “This event was a highlight of the spring season last year and we know it will be a big hit this year. Kyle Stewart of the Cultured Cup is a wonderful speaker.”
Guests will hear from Kyle Stewart, a Certified Tea Specialist, a Specialty Tea Institute (STI) Mentor and an STI Advisory Board Member. Kyle has traveled extensively, and often collaborates with local culinary professionals and sommeliers to pair tea with food or wine. He has made presentations at SMU, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Museum of Asian Art and at the World Tea Exposition. His topic will be “First Ladies and Their Teas.”
