Shake Shack Now Open in Legacy West

Shake Shack opened March 29 as the first eatery open to the public in west Plano’s Legacy West mixed-use development. The burger joint that originated in NYC’s Madison Square Park as a hot dog cart has a cult following and locations in 14 states, as well as worldwide. They’re now famous for their burgers and shakes, and people turn out in droves to line up for their meals.

Though now an international chain, Shake Shack always keeps a neighborhood vibe by working with some local ingredients at each store. Take for instance the West Slide Concrete, which is vanilla custard swirled with Plano’s own Sugar Ray Bake Shop’s Strawberry cupcake.

Shake Shack’s Top Twirl includes miso caramel cake from Top Knot in Dallas. The restaurant also features the Pie Oh My Concrete, which mixes in a slice of Dallas’ Emporium Pies’ seasonal pie (and they donate 5% from each sale to Children’s Medical Center Dallas, holding true to the company’s mission to “stand for something good”).

Fans of Pecan Lodge will be excited to see the Link Burger, a traditional Shake Shack cheeseburger topped with a griddled jalapeño sausage link from the well-loved Dallas barbecue restaurant. All of these features are, of course, in addition to their classics, made with all natural 100% Angus beef, flat-top Vienna beef hot dogs, and 100% all natural cage-free chicken. Diners can also sip on local brews from Four Corners Brewing Co. and Deep Ellum Brewing Co.

For added convenience (and help with those now-famous long lines!) the new restaurant will roll out their Shack App with this opening. This app allows guests to order straight from their mobile phone, choose a time, then pick up when the app send a notification that the order is ready.

Shake Shack Plano’s hours are 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
