1. Keep your garden in tip-top shape

Summer is already upon us, and soaring temperatures mean that our gardens need a little extra care. Plano Public Library and Sustainability & Environmental Education are hosting a virtual workshop, Connecting Seniors: Gardening, on Thursday, June 4 at 1 p.m. to share our favorite and most effective gardening tips to keep your yard going strong. 2. Learn some new magic tricks

(all ages) 

Help James Wand solve clues and secret codes and prepare to be amazed by the most incredible magic you will ever see! Magician James Wand typically performs in the library to a packed program room, and has pivoted to make his edu-taining show virtual. Friday Fun with James Wand will go live on the Plano Public Library Facebook page on Friday, June 5 at 3 p.m., and will be available for watching at your convenience.

Boost your graphic design skills

(ages 13+, registration required)

We are taking Digital Creation Space classes online! On Wednesday, June 10 at 1 p.m. you can learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop and editing images from the expertise of Plano Public Library staff; register here. If you don’t already have Photoshop and want to follow along, you can sign up for a free seven-day trial from Adobe here.

Preserve old photos and documents

4. Preserve old photos and documents

(ages 18+, registration required)

If you have family document and photos, such as historical and legal documents, proof of events and sentimental treasures, that you want to last, this workshop is for you. The Genealogy: Papers from the Attic virtual workshop meets via Zoom on Friday, June 19 at 1 p.m.; register online here. You will learn how to identify what each item is, decide what is important to keep, organize by type and ways to preserve through controlled environments and the right enclosure.

Navigate new jobs and careers

5. Navigate new jobs and careers

(ages 16+, registration required)

Twice this June, Plano Public Library will help you explore resources to start a new career and set up your social media for job search success. Both workshops are meeting via Zoom and require registration. Sessions will be recorded and available afterward for future viewing:
