World of Beer

“Hey, I’ll buy the next round!” Everyone’s favorite phrase. And since you’re at World of Beer Plano, there’ll be no shortage of options. They offer over 500 different bottled beers and 50+ beers on tap as well as a full selection of wine and spirits.

World of Beer started in Florida as a beer store, thus the name. It has since expanded to include a full service restaurant featuring classic tavern fare such as giant German pretzels, an artisan sausage board, fish and tots, mac and cheese, burgers, sandwiches and salads.

You’ll also find a large outdoor patio where you can enjoy local musicians playing live music. Or you can engage friends and family in a game of giant Jenga, shuffleboard (coming soon), or pub trivia.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Don’t know diddly squat about beer? World of Beer General Manager Nicole Jesse explains, “If you’re a new beer drinker, we can start you off with something light and move you up and graduate you to becoming an educated craft beer drinker.” WOB teams up with different breweries to present Beer School where you can learn about and try different styles of beer. Try it with a group of friends.

Displayed on the bartop is a magical device called the infusion tower where different ingredients are incorporated into beer via a sciencey-looking test tube contraption. It’s like Dr. Frankenstein’s lab for beer. Want to try beer infused with whiskey-soaked coffee beans? Yes, please. Better still, according to Nicole, “We’re not afraid to give away samples.” Remember how you felt as a kid, tasting all the flavors at the ice cream counter? It’s like that, but with BEER.

$15 will get you the World of Beer Loyalty card and the WOB app will track each new beer you try. You’ll get to earn points toward goodies like t-shirts and gift cards and enjoy special Loyalty Nights where members get 25% off bottled and canned beer all day.

World of Beer is the perfect hangout for all walks of life. Bring your family to brunch (a kids’ menu is in the works) or meet up for Mom’s Night Out. Sports fans can enjoy the many beer offerings while watching football on the big screen TVs. Try it for date night with your Schmoopsy and enjoy bonding over one of the board games or a friendly trivia game. WOB would also love to host your corporate happy hour.
