Recent restaurant updates: Subs, baked goods, ice cream incoming

Sub sandwiches in far east Plano. A cult-followed bakery in Legacy East. Another location for a local ice cream favorite in North Plano.

Plano’s dining scene is set to get three additions this year, as Port of Subs, Maman and Tongue in Cheek are under construction as we speak.

Port of Subs

3411 Renner Road

The Nevada-based sub sandwich shop is opening its second Texas location later this year. The project is slated to start on June 1 and be completed by December 1, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Maman

7200 Bishop Road, Suite D-11

New York City-cult favorite bakery Maman is set to come to Plano with a renovation taking place over June 7-December 20 this year, according to WhatNow. The restaurant is taking over the former Main Street Bistro & Bakery, which appears to have closed last year.

Tongue in Cheek

7801 Alma Dr.

The local ice creamery is opening its second Plano location in the former Jeremiah’s Italian Ice spot. The shop appears finished, though an opening date has not yet been announced.
