First winner of Where Community Grows art contest revealed

Connor Huang is the winner of the children's category in Plano Parks and Recreation's Where Community Grows contest.

Plano Parks and Recreation announced the first place winner of the Where Community Grows art contest in the children’s category, Connor Huang.

Huang drew a colorful picture with “Plano” written in bubble letters and illustrations of Texas-themed items and sights inside and around the word.

Business Manager Chris Guilkey and Assistant Director of Parks Dave Angeles awarded Huang a certificate as well as a free annual family membership for him and his family to enjoy recreation center amenities around the city.

The Where Community Grows contest has three categories. The children’s category is for those 5 to 12 years of age, followed by one for 13 to 18-year-olds and a final category for anyone 19 or older. Plano Parks and Recreation will continue to post about the winners on Facebook throughout the week.
