Annual arts festival Celebrate the Arts returns August 16

After 12 months of stakeholder interviews, community surveys and input from artists, institutions and the public, the Cultural Arts Plan was drafted with five strategic goals highlighted for the City to focus on and suggestions for how to go forward.
Collaborative Arts of Plano's fourth annual Celebrate the Arts festival is coming to the Courtyard Theatre next week with fine arts performances.

Celebrate the Arts, an annual one-day festival celebrating the fine arts in Plano hosted by Collaborative Arts of Plano, takes place at the Courtyard Theatre on August 16.

This year, there will be two performances: a children’s matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. immediately following an art exhibit with fan-favorite voting at 6:30 p.m.

The children’s matinee will feature a Make It, Take It art activity hosted by the ArtCentre of Plano, Plano Art Association and Plano Symphony Orchestra.

The evening performance will also feature performances in music, dance and theatre, including:

  • Chamberlain Ballet,
  • Children’s Chorus of Collin County,
  • Garage Arts Project,
  • Legacy of Harmony,
  • North Texas Performing Arts,
  • Outcry Theatre,
  • Plano Art Association,
  • Plano Civic Chorus,
  • Plano Comedy Festival,
  • Plano Community Band,
  • Plano International Festival,
  • Plano Metropolitan Ballet,
  • Plano Symphony Orchestra Trio,
  • Rover Dramawerks,
  • Repertory Company Theatre

Tickets are on sale online now for $20 each. The Courtyard Theatre is located at 1509 Avenue H.
