New to town: Molly Tea, The Clara Hotel and Ichika

An eight-table Japanese eaterie. The first southern location of a Chinese tea chain. A redesigned hotel with a restaurant and lounge.

Plano is constantly developing, with new businesses cropping up and others taking the place of those that close. Coming up, we have Chinese tea chain Molly Tea, newly designed The Clara Hotel and recently opened Ichika.

Molly Tea

The Chinese tea brand with more than 2,000 locations worldwide and 15 in the United States brings its signature fresh milk tea series, snowy whipped series and fresh oat milk tea series. A sign on the door says “opening soon,” and the project was slated to finish in January, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The 176-room hotel with a restaurant and library-inspired lounge is set to open sometime in the next few months.

Ichika

Texas’ first kaiseki-dedicated restaurant opened in Plano earlier this month. The seasonal kappo-kaiseki menu is $250 per guest, with reservations for the eight-table restaurant opening on the first day of each month at 10 a.m. for the following month.
