Event Details

The mission of Unmasking Brain Injury is to promote awareness of the prevalence of brain injury; to give survivors a voice and the means to educate others of what it’s like to live with a brain injury; to show others that persons living with a disability due to their brain injury are like anyone else, deserving of dignity, respect, compassion and the opportunity to prove their value as citizens in their respective communities.

BIND: Brain Injury Network of Dallas in Plano and The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare in Addison

About BIND: BIND, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is the first and only brain injury clubhouse in the state of Texas. Our mission is to provide tools and a bridge of support to adult survivors of stroke, traumatic brain injury and brain cancer so they can reconnect to work, life and the community. Because 400 Texans are hospitalized for a new brain injury every single day, the need for BINDs services are significant and persistent.

BIND is a member of the International Brain Injury Clubhouse Alliance where our founder, Valerie Gotcher, serves as the President of the Board of Directors. BIND is also a member of the Texas Clubhouse Coalition, an organization dedicated to supporting the establishment and sustainable lifespan of mental health and brain injury clubhouses across the state of Texas.
