Take the family to the Willow Bend Farmers Market each Saturday to experience the local goods Plano has to offer. This outdoor market hosts around 20 local vendors each Saturday offering a variety of quality products.
John Jost, owner of Red Tent Markets, said the heart behind the farmers market is to bring neighbors and vendors together. “Our mission is to host family-friendly events that provide a venue where talented, dedicated farmers, craftsmen, makers and bakers are able to offer their wares directly to the community,” said Jost.
The items sold range from cookies to popcorn, Columbian jewelry to artisan handbags, and fresh produce to local honey. The Cookie Crave sells an assortment of cookies such as chocolate chip, white chocolate snicker doodle and butterscotch for $1.85 each. La Esperanza Farm offers fresh produce grown on their 80-acre farm in Nevada, Texas. The tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers and all other produce are grown only through organic methods without the use of pesticides.
Local artist, Natalia Veronica, focuses on bringing art into the everyday. She sells artisan handbags, wallets, pillows and prints ranging from $15-$45. VomFoss sells a selection of oils, vinegars, whiskeys and wines. Mike Burkey, owner of VomFoss, described the Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil mixed with the Plum Balsamic Star as “a little taste of heaven.”
