Snuffer’s Restaurant & Bar

An old buddy is returning to the Plano restaurant scene. Snuffer’s Restaurant & Bar opens to the public on July 31, near the NE corner of Park Blvd. and Preston Rd. The Dallas-based eatery was previously located in this shopping center (where SMOKE is now) until closing in 2014. Its new location is the previous location of Spezzo.

Snuffer’s originated on Dallas’ Greenville Avenue in 1978, and it has since become somewhat legendary (at least locally) for its Cheddar Fries pulled high with bacon, chives and jalapeños. The burgers made from fresh, never frozen ground chuck are also a big draw, with options like the Dr Pepper BBQ Bacon Burger and a Green Chile Cheeseburger at the West Plano location. The menu also offers sandwich, salads, soups and home style classics like a Nathan’s hot dog, chicken strips or grilled chicken platter. Happy hour is celebrated at the bar every night from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and 8:00 until closing, plus an additional $1 draft special of the month.

“We can’t wait to rejoin the Plano community, where Snuffer’s was so popular for so many years,” said Steve Chambers, Senior Director of Operations for Dallas-based Firebird Restaurant Group, LLC. “We’ve been searching for the perfect site in Plano ever since, and we finally found one in the same shopping center as before!” said Chambers.

The grand opening celebration on July 31 will include a ribbon cutting and a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County from fundraisers that Snuffer’s conducted during its pre-opening training events.

Their food hasn’t been the same since the new ownership arrived.
The old snuffer’s in Plano was terrific, and I miss the hamburgers and cheese fries; the quality has taken a downturn, to say the least.
It’s not total garbage, just disappointing, nothing like snuffer’s used to be.

We loved the old Snuffers in Plano and just ate at the new one for the first time since they opened.
It was awesome just as we remembered. Great hamburger and great fries. Great service too! They are packed but we were still seated within 10 minutes. Very friendly staff! We’ll be here at least once a week . SO GOOD !!!!!!
