Top 5 Reasons You Wanna Be ‘Neath the Wreath

For the Junior League of Collin County (JLCC) it’s the most wonderful time of the year. For the past 23 years, JLCC has offered its annual ‘Neath the Wreath (NTW) holiday market with over 125 unique vendors on site. There are fan favorites that make a yearly appearance as well as new merchants peddling wares from clothing to food and housewares to home décor; basically, there is no shortage of merchandise to tickle your fancy.

‘Neath the Wreath runs Nov. 8-11 this year with its popular Ladies Night Out preview event happening on Nov. 7. Here are the top five reasons you should clear your calendar to attend NTW. Like NOW.

1. NTW. Has. Everything.

It’s a one-stop shop for the holidays. The event committee puts special effort into finding unique vendors. You can find jewelry, clothing, accessories, shoes, purses, funny holiday shirts, bath and body items, gadgets, toys and tons of seasonal home décor to keep things festive. There are also edible treats for holiday gatherings, like pies, dips, soups and so much more. Yes, ma’am, you will get a giant reusable shopping tote upon check in so you can shop ’til you drop. Bag check is also available to help you keep those hands free to continue shopping with ease. You’ll pretty much look like Santa as you walk out the doors.

2. It’s the perfect girls’ day out activity.

There’s nothing better than grabbing your gals for some retail therapy. NTW is huge – 80,000 square feet huge – and full of cute stuff just waiting for you and your friends. In addition to concession stands (no one gets hangry at NTW), there are several bars so you can sip a signature cocktail or glass of wine while you and your BFFs peruse the aisles and aisles full of goodies.

3. You don’t have to lug your gifts to the car.

Valet parking is offered for $10. Basically, folks, you pull up to the front door, hop out with your gals and storm the castle with nary a look behind. It also makes easy work of loading your haul into the trunk after a long day of shopping. Best of all, valet is available all four days of NTW. Winning!

4. Collin County’s finest will be there.

At the Ladies Night Out preview event on Wednesday evening, you’ll be greeted by Collin County’s finest. I mean, greeted by the finest firefighters in Collin County. Well, you get the picture. Those guys are there to welcome you and are truly heartbroken if you don’t take a picture with them. Really. It’s a sacrifice I’m sure we can all make. As if that weren’t enough reason to attend, your Ladies Night Out ticket also includes access to a buffet, seasonal cocktails and a silent auction.

5. All that shopping is for a great cause.

The Junior League of Collin County has raised $3.77 million over the past 22 years of the event for educational and charitable projects. When you buy, you’re helping them help others. This year’s theme is “Christmas in the City” and will be reminiscent of the Big Apple at Christmas time. The Community Stage will offer a place for shoppers to pause, grab a bite or rest weary feet and watch local non-profits perform.

If this isn’t enough to convince you to run – not walk – to ‘Neath the Wreath, there’s no hope for you, Grinch. Food, drinks, philanthropy, shopping and firefighters…these are a few of Plano’s favorite things!

Nov. 9th update: For safety reasons, ‘Neath the Wreath does not allow baby strollers, rolling carts, rolling bags, or wagons inside of market. Strollers may be checked complimentary at the door.
