Every year, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) hosts a student art contest. North Texas students are eligible to submit entries through Tuesday, March 23. The theme of this year’s contest is “Everyday Heroes Ride DART.”

The theme gives students an opportunity to honor the heroes who have selflessly and bravely served their communities during the pandemic. The contest is open to kindergarten through 12th grade students to compete for the chance to have their artwork displayed on DART rail stations, buses and inside trains.

Winners’ artworks will also be exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art, Love Field Airport and on DART’s website. Prizes will be awarded to first place winners and runners-up in each of the grade-level categories. The art contest is made possible through DART’s partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Contemporary and Half Price Books.
