Plano Artfest is back for a second year! This year’s festival will include an entire week of community art programming that ends with a two-day festival in the Downtown Plano Arts District. Come out and let your creativity loose! Plano Artfest is a FREE community event built around artistic inclusiveness, creative curiosities, and cultural connection.
Saturday night’s experience will be geared toward a more contemporary art crowd:
Saturday will include contemporary art installations curated by Dallas artist Joshua King from the AURORA festival, food trucks, an Artisan Lounge presented by Artisan Vapor Company, and a concert held on the Hub Streat Stage in McCall Plaza featuring local bands, plus regional headliner Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears!
Sunday will be the traditional family fun day for young families and art lovers of all ages:
Sunday will include the free sidewalk chalk contest, Chalk It Up, and will feature performances from Plano’s best arts and cultural groups on the community stage. There will be local food vendors, a makers market, and a Kids Zone with bounce houses and art make-it-and-take-it stations.
Collin College’s art department will be at the festival on both days, doing live demonstrations of pottery making and metal pouring art and hosting several interactive public art stations.
Saturday, April 22nd from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, April 23rd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Be sure to stop by Hub Streat for the afterparty on Friday night!
