Rick Saigling is a descendant of several original settlers of Plano including the Forman, Saigling, and Andrews families. A Plano resident and life-long member of First Christian Church in downtown Plano, Rick is still actively involved as an Elder at the church. Before retiring from the PISD in 2009 after 32 years, Rick taught history at Bowman Middle School as well as Journalism and social studies at Plano East Sr. High. He is currently working as a long-term substitute teacher at Plano East. Rick, who has degrees from Texas Tech and The University of North Texas, has a married daughter, Meredith, who lives in Dallas with her husband, Alex.
