Robert L. Haynes
Robert L. Haynes is a former curator at the Plano Interurban Railway Museum and former director of the Interurban’s Johnnie J. Myers Research Center. Trained as an Anthropologist at the University of California, Berkeley; Universitѐ du Bordeaux, Talance, France; Universitѐ du Benin, Togo, West Africa; and in Museum Studies at San Francisco State University, he co-authored the book “Plano and the Interurban Railway.”
Mr. Haynes is also chief curator and director of Texas Curatorial Services in Dallas, having served clients such as The Old Red Courthouse Museum, The Irving History Center, The Mayme Clayton Museum of California, and The Dallas African American Museum. In addition to his expertise in museum management and research, Mr. Haynes brings to the history of electric rail technology in North Texas a perspective that takes in urbanization, social change and process.
