Leadership Plano is now accepting applications for its nine-month leadership and community course.
Going on its 38th year, the program focuses on team- and leadership-building, as well as understanding local government. Study topics also include education, local business and economic development, health and human services, the criminal justice system, and the arts, among others.
A two-day retreat in September will kick off this year’s Leadership Plano class. The group will then meet monthly from October-May, according to a release from the Plano Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Plano.
“Leadership Plano has made a tremendously positive impact on the Plano community and beyond,” said program director Carole Greisdorf in the release. “Its graduates serve in numerous elected positions and on non-profit boards through the community and Texas. This program provides a solid foundation for service.”
More information on the program, as well as application forms, instructions and a calendar for the 2021-22 course can be found online here. Applications will close at 6 p.m. June 15 and are only accepted online.
Leadership Plano began in 1983 and is presented by the Plano Chamber of Commerce, the city’s 5-star accredited chamber which represents more than 800 businesses and community organizations, per the release.
