“We wish to thank the rapid response of our Collin College Police Department, Plano Police Department and Collin College leadership, emergency management response teams, counselors, and student services. We appreciated all student residents’ cooperation during the shelter in place,” a statement from the college said.
There have been several changes to hazardous route transportation and fare busing this school year, per a March school board decision.
According to the district, students will be required to shut off their personal devices and put them in their backpacks for the entire school day.
Students ages 3-4 received education about road signs, police officer duties and the power of saying ‘no’ to strangers, a release said.
