The Halloween season is in full swing and some local eateries are stepping up their game this year with the addition of special spooky treats to their menus. These restaurants have craftily curated something that is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit, or at least up your calorie count for the day. But who’s counting anyways?
Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop
4021 Preston Rd
In honor of Halloween, Sugar Ray’s is offering a Blackout Cake with an edible spider on top. Yes, you read that right, an edible spider. They will also be offering Halloween cupcakes, decorated sugar cookies and homemade orange cream-filled Oreos during the month of October.

One seasonal delight includes the Pumpkin Spice Cake consisting of four layers of pumpkin spice cake frosted with pumpkin cream cheese frosting and drizzled with homemade chocolate ganache. Yum. Additionally, SusieCakes is offering the Trick-or-Treat Bar, a chewy blondie bar loaded with mini M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, Butterfinger and Heath Bar. These delicacies will be available through Halloween.

The Biscuit Bar
5880 TX-121 #102b
The Biscuit Bar is offering something spooky you probably haven’t seen before – black biscuits – unless, of course, you have burned your own biscuits at home. These biscuits are far from burned, but just the right buttery snack to get you in the spooky spirit. The Boo! Biscuits will be available for every sandwich starting on October 29 through Halloween. Additionally, The Biscuit Bar has teamed up with a local farmer to create and jar their new Apple Pie Preserves that pair perfectly with the Boo! Biscuit. The preserves will be available for purchase starting in November.

Kenny’s Burger Joint
5809 Preston Rd #588
Kenny’s Burger Joint chef Kenny Bowers has been known to be a bit cheesy, and his culinary creation for the month of October supports that reputation. Kenny’s Burger Joint has introduced the Ghost Burger, in which all the gooey goodness of delectable queso is on the outside of the burger, rather than the inside. Sounds like a delicious mess to me.
