It started with just a few dress sketches that Lauren Stokes, a registered nurse, had drawn up during her maternity bed rest. These sketches, however, would later snowball into online clothing brand Lauren James and a successful brick-and-mortar store in Arkansas. Now, Lauren Stokes is bringing Lauren James’ preppy-colorful style to a new retail location in Plano.
Modern yet timeless, the brand primarily aims to create clothing that makes women feel beautiful. It does so with a diverse line of products: dresses, tops, athletic shorts, skirts, koozies and even college apparel for students to celebrate their school pride. All products carry the same southern, unique Lauren James flair. As its website describes it, the brand “is more than a label, it’s a lifestyle.”
With a spot in the ever-beautiful Shops at Legacy, Lauren James will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 30. For its grand opening, the store will also host a drawing to win a Lauren James paddle board. Come out and support the brand – among the many clothes, accessories and everyday items offered, you’re bound to find something you like.
