My Possibilities’ A Very Special Evening with Wayne Brady

My Possibilities is a Plano-based campus for higher learning that provides post-secondary education to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). On Dec. 3, My Possibilities (MP) will be hosting its annual A Very Special Evening, this year featuring celebrity Wayne Brady.

The event will look a little different than years past – in step with most everything else in 2020. To keep every supporter and HIPster – or Hugely Important People, aka the clients at MP – safe and healthy, the event will be completely online.

Over the years, this annual event has raised a total of nearly five and a half million dollars. These funds help run MP’s LaunchAbility Career Services program which provides vocational training and support to the HIPsters. HIPsters also receive training at MP to further develop their social skills, health and wellness, creativity and independent living skills.

This year’s virtual event will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Event registration is $40. Once you have registered, you will receive more information on how to access the event. The event will open with a welcome from MP Executive Director Michael Thomas, as well as event chairs Chris and David Downs.

At 7:15 pm. Wayne Brady will begin streaming his performance live from L.A. Brady is an American actor, singer, comedian, game show host and TV personality. Many know him from improv comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” or more recently as the host of “Let’s Make a Deal.” He has performed in live theater on Broadway, and received 16 Emmy Award nominations and a Grammy award nomination. In December of last year he was named the winner of “The Masked Singer” Season 2.

Though MP’s A Very Special Evening will not be attended in person this year, the event will have the same function: raising funds to keep providing career support for HIPsters. Unwind by watching a live comedy show, and know that your donation is supporting an important cause.
