North Texas Food Bank announces Partner Agency of the Year awards

North Texas Food Bank awarded several of their partner agencies recently, like Plano-based nonprofits The Storehouse and Local Good Center.

The North Texas Food Bank recognized several organizations earlier this year at their Partner Agency Summit. Fourteen of the more than 500 feeding partners and organizations that assist NTFB in their mission of feeding those facing hunger were awarded.

Several of these honorees are Plano-based institutions.

According to a press release, the organization also distributed 143,000 pounds of food last year through their market. The Local Good Center is located at 2201 K Ave.

The organization’s goal is to help feed, clothe and care for neighbors in our community. The Storehouse of Collin County is located at 1401 Mira Vista Boulevard.

Other winners include Christian Community Action for Transformational Partner of the Year, Lawrence & Marder Church of Christ for Progressive Partner of the Year, Network of Community Ministries for Hunger Hero Retail Agency of the Year and Lake Area Shared Ministries for Commodity Supplemental Food Program Agency of the Year.
