NTPA Repertory Theatre announces August shows of ‘Footloose’

North Texas Performing Arts Repertory Theatre recently announced its August dates for the musical “Footloose,” to be held at Plano’s Rodenbaugh Theatre.

The musical traces the story of Ren, who moves from Chicago to a small rural town after his father leaves him and his mother. While adjusting to his new high school, Ren must deal with strict local rules, on top of someone’s attempt to sabotage his reputation. The play explores themes of rebellion and self-expression through a heartfelt story.

“Footloose” will run from Aug. 1-10 and include both matinees and evening shows. Tickets are available for purchase online and range from $20-$32 each.

The nine performances are as follows:

  • Friday, Aug. 1, 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 2, 2:30 p.m.*
  • Saturday, Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 3, 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 7, 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 8, 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 9, 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 9, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 10, 2:30 p.m.

*This performance will be interpreted in ASL on the left side of the audience, or stage right.

Rodenbaugh Theatre is located at 6121 West Park Blvd. in Willow Bend Center of the Arts.
