The comedy play-lineup will take place on June 5-21, 2025, at the Cox Playhouse as part of Rover Dramawerks' 25th anniversary season.

Plano-based Rover Dramawerks is bringing back their 10-Minute Comedies Contest, seeking submissions starting September 23.

The theatre company is accepting 300 submissions, which must have not been submitted to the competition before or produced in the DFW Metroplex, may not be published and must be shorter than 12 pages, contain a cast list and brief synopsis and must be submitted via Google Form with a PDF file. Submissions are blind, and more than one submission will result in disqualification, a news release said. There is no fee for submission.

Up to 10 plays will be chosen to be part of Rover’s 10-Minute Comedies from June 5-21, 2025. All winners will receive a $100 prize, though the winner of audience-voted “Best of the Fest” will win an additional $100.

Last year’s titles included Scott Mullen’s I Just Sneezed with a Big Mouthful of Coffee and I Do Not Recommend It, Lindsey Brown’s The Last Deck Chair in the Resort, Laurie Allen’s Stealing a Kiss, Beth Polsky’s Charlie, Matt Crowley’s Couples Therapy, David MacGregor’s Trivial, Chuck Brestman’s Thr33, Jorge Martin Lara’s Ten Minutes ’til Christmas, Carol Mullen’s Sirens, Keith Whalen’s Coming to Town and Richard Castle’s Designed 2B Deleted.

10-Minute Comedies will be performed at the Cox Playhouse located at 1517 H Avenue.
