STEAM Kits at the Plano Public Library

To promote education in the areas of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), the Plano Public Library System offers STEAM kits at all five of the Plano libraries. The kits are free to check out and offer families a way to experiment and learn together.

Bone Detective, Human X-Ray, LEGO NXT Robot, Musical Marble Maze, the Night Sky, Snap Circuits, Straw Rocket Launcher and World of Bugs are just a few of the interesting topics. The kits available for check out vary from library to library. Special kits are also available just for preschoolers.

Initially created in partnership with University of Texas at Dallas, the Plano Public Library staff is constantly developing new kits to support STEAM-based learning. There are currently 52 different STEAM kits offered, but that number is growing.
