1. Find your voice through writing
(Adults)
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and the library has a four-part workshop series for anyone embarking on this literary journey. Meeting at Schimelpfenig Library on Saturdays throughout November 2021 at 10 a.m, you can learn how to improve your story by creating well-rounded characters and putting them in engaging conflicts. Whether or not you’re taking the NaNoWriMo challenge, explore new ways of approaching your writing.

Holiday Food Safety

Prepare for enjoyable and healthy holiday celebrations with proper food safety precautions. Learn about four principles for safe food handling: Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill. Presented by Environmental Health.

Choose your favorite recipe for the monthly topic, prepare the dish and participate in a robust discussion on cooking.
3. Learn how to edit video
(Ages 13 and up, ticketed)
Learn the basics of editing video with Adobe Premiere Pro. Meeting in the Digital Creation Space at Parr Library, this class will take you through creating your project and importing your media, commonly used editing tools, and the final export process. Premiere Pro: Video Editing Basics meets on Tuesday, November 16 at 7 p.m. at Parr Library and is ticketed. Tickets will be available in-person beginning at 6:30 p.m.
4. Manage your money early
(Teens, registration required)
Along with Bank of America, teens will learn the basics of banking, tips for managing money including balancing wants and needs, understanding the role of credit, and the importance of protecting financial information. Student Guide to Money Management meets virtually on Monday, November 22 at 2 p.m. Register here.
5. Knit with friends
(Adults)
Love to knit or crochet? Embroider or cross-stitch? Novel Knitters meets twice monthly at Haggard Library (2nd and 4th Mondays) at 7 p.m. Bring a project (and a friend!) and meet other crafters. Share any knitting or crochet tips, or learn how with others. For November, Novel Knitters meets on Monday, November 15 and 29.
