Urban Nutrition Lounge opened mid-July in Downtown Plano, offering healthy shakes and rejuvenating teas in a bright, modern setting. The menu is currently limited as they’re still in the “soft opening” phase, but owners Kelady Wendland and Lely Williams are excited to share more items with customers very soon.
“When we have our grand opening in the next month or so, we’ll release the full menu. Right now we are offering some of our shakes and teas,” shared Kelady. “The shakes are a meal replacement. They keep you full, but stay low in calories and high in nutrients. The teas have lots of antioxidants, and help you keep your energy up and help with digestion.”
Kelady and Lely have been working together in the field of health and nutrition for several years. They’re both passionate about helping people meet their goals whether that’s gaining muscle, losing weight or transitioning into a more active lifestyle.
“We wanted to create a place where people can come try out shakes and teas while they’re on the go. Eating healthy can sometimes be expensive, and meal prepping at home gets tiring,” Kelady said. Urban Nutrition Lounge aims to be a healthy and affordable answer to that problem.
The ladies don’t just want to sell drinks – they created Urban Nutrition Lounge because they want to invest in their customers’ journeys toward a healthier lifestyle. If you walk into their shop and share your fitness or health goals with them, they will sit down with you and help you create a meal plan.
Lely’s favorite item on the menu? “The pecan pie shake.” And Kelady’s? “Maybe the birthday cake shake or the strawberry cheesecake shake.” Those three menu items are top sellers so far, as is their caramel macchiato. Other delicious shakes offered include the Elvis PB banana, cookie monster, Key lime pie and more.
The menu also includes refreshing teas, like the colorful mermaid tea with orange Niteworks® supplement in the recipe, and the watermelon Jolly Rancher that incorporates lemon, cranberry, lemon lime and watermelon flavors. Protein iced coffee is also available.
“We’re just excited to be here and to serve everyone. We love getting to know everyone, and helping them get healthier and happier – that’s our mission!” shared Lely.
