Vivi Bubble Tea, an authentic Taiwanese bubble tea shop, recently opened its third location in the DFW area at 1301 Custer Road in Plano.
Kelvin and Amy Li own Vivi Bubble Tea with Kelvin’s brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Julie. They also own the other two Vivi Bubble Tea locations in Frisco at 3520 Preston Road and in Garland at 325 Coneflower Drive.
Vivi was founded in 2007 in New York City and became a franchise in 2012. Within six years, Vivi has expanded to nearly 70 stores across the U.S.
All of the drink supplies for Vivi are shipped directly from Taiwan to preserve the original concept of Bubble Tea. Because of this, they are able to ensure that the tea leaves are at their prime since they are freshly handpicked every year.
The shop offers a full drink and food menu. They provide a variety of teas such as milk teas, flavored teas, fresh fruit teas and floral teas as well as fresh milk lattes and slushes. Their food menu consists of their signature popcorn chicken as well as bentos, ramen and curry.
“There are many boba tea shops that have been coming to the Plano area due to the flourishing Asian population, but Vivi is one of the first bubble tea shops that specializes in both boba and Taiwanese food,” says Amy. “Our menu is so expansive that you can almost never run out of combinations for both food and drink cravings.”
Vivi Bubble Tea in Plano is celebrating its grand opening until October 28 with an ongoing promotion of buy one, get one free for select drinks and a $1 popcorn chicken snack with any purchase of $20 or more.
