Let’s do brunch, Plano. The inaugural Plano Brunch Festival, presented by O’Neil Wysocki Family Law and hosted at The District at The Shops at Willow Bend, will offer an extensive lineup of entertainment and activities on Saturday, April 27.

The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with a stroller- and dog-friendly Race to Brunch 5K, with a portion of registration proceeds benefiting Lovepacs Plano. Race participants will also receive an event t-shirt, medal, brunch snacks and a pineapple upside down mimosa courtesy of Breadwinners Café.

The full festival will begin at 9 a.m., with offerings to include chef-inspired brunch plates prepared by Knife, Whistle Britches, Terra Mediterranean, Mexican Bar Co., Ascension, California Pizza Kitchen, Breadwinners Café, Rye Craft Food & Drink and Maggiano’s. Featured specialty cocktails will include mimosas, bloody Marys, Mexico 70s and draft beer from Tupps Brewery.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy live music, shop from more than 50 local vendors and artisans, partake in culinary and mixology demonstrations, play lawn games and more.

“Plano was recently named one of the top food cities in America, and the inaugural Plano Brunch Fest is definitely a reflection of that,” said Lauren Stephan, event organizer and president of SBG Hospitality. “Residents of all ages are invited to brunch their hearts out and enjoy an added layer of shopping and entertainment options, all in The District’s energizing atmosphere. Plus, the first 100 attendees will receive a free mini bottle of champagne to kick off the party!”

The District at The Shops at Willow Bend celebrated its grand opening last fall and has since been a focal point for chef-driven dining options in Plano.

“Willow Bend is passionate about engaging our community, and hosting the first-ever Plano Brunch Festival is the perfect way to do that,” said Amy Medford, marketing director at The Shops at Willow Bend. “From the 5K to the mixology classes, this festival is the ultimate community brunch experience, and we’re thrilled to be a part of the fun.”

General admission to the festival is free and open to all ages, but registration is required to enjoy food and beverage. Registration for the Race to Brunch 5K is $35. Brunch passes are $40 and include bites from seven participating restaurants, three drink tickets and a commemorative champagne or beer glass.

Registration and packages can be purchased here or at the event. Strollers, children and leashed dogs are welcome.
