Our Guide to Valentine’s Day in Plano

Don’t bore your Valentine (or Galentine) with convenience store-bought chocolates or a Redbox kind of night. There is no shortage of locally-made sweets and unique events to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Plano. Allow us to share our favorites:

Chef Katherine Clapner at Dude, Sweet Chocolate has outdone herself this month. She has created a sculptural South American 72% heart that is enclosed around Saigon cinnamon zeffir and strawberry pearls. This baby is $45 and will definitely make an impression on your gal or guy. The heart is limited edition: Only 200 were made, so call ahead to check on availability. Also available for Valentine’s Day are Love Potion #3, Passion Truffles, Praska Truffles and Eyetalian Chocolate Toffee.

The Kate Weiser Chocolate pop-up shop at Shops at Legacy has several new items created just for the Valentine’s holiday. The hollow Messenger Bear holds in its tummy a candy bar, chocolate covered cherries and a personalized message you create. The Heart Collection also features Kate’s signature splattter-painted chocolates in heart shapes. The shop leaves at the end of the month, so don’t delay if you haven’t stopped by yet.
