Plano’s Fourth of July Parade is back this year as part of the all-american 4th celebration. Riding as this year’s Hometown Hero is none other than Faizan Zaki, the 13-year-old student from Rice Middle School who just won the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The parade rolls out Friday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. with colorful floats, marching groups and appearances from local officials, clubs and community leaders. Plano ISD’s Teachers of the Year, Adalixa Reyes Gomez and Thomas Rooklidge, will serve as grand marshals.
Gates to Oak Point Park open at 6 p.m., with free games and fun for all ages, plus food and drinks available for purchase. After the parade, stick around for the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m..
This year’s parade is hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Plano and marks the return of a cherished tradition after a brief break in 2024. Community members are encouraged to come together, show their hometown pride, and celebrate the Fourth in true Plano fashion.
Admission is free. Bring your blankets, chairs, and coolers, but please leave pets at home. Free parking is available at Collin College and Plano Event Center.
