Youth street banner design contest for Downtown Plano open now

Calling all youth artists ages 5-18: Downtown Plano Historic Arts District is asking for submissions for winter-themed banners.

The Downtown Plano Arts District is inviting youth ages 5-18 to submit original artwork for the district’s first-ever Street Banner Design Contest. 

Artwork should reflect the winter season, be vertical in orientation and submitted either digitally (hi-res) or on unlined paper or canvas.

Art can be submitted

  • on an 8×11 sheet of paper
  • digitally at michellha@plano.gov
  • in-person at Bibliobar, Ten 20 Art Gallery or Municipal Center labeled “ATTN: Michelle Hawkins.” Please include your child’s name and age, and parents’ contact information on the back

 Ten artists will be selected to have their artwork displayed on banners throughout Downtown Plano. Each winner will receive $100.

Artwork is due Nov. 11 by 11:59 p.m. Ten artists will be selected and notified by Nov. 24, each receiving $100. Artwork will not be returned.
