Artist Call: Downtown Plano taking entries now for youth street banner design contest

Artists residing within the Plano ISD boundaries ages 5-18 can submit artwork following the "Springtime in Downtown Plano" theme online or in person.

The Downtown Plano Arts District is calling all young artists residing in the Plano ISD boundaries to submit original artwork for a chance to have their banner design displayed on banners throughout the neighborhood.

Children ages 5-18 can submit artwork in the theme “Springtime in Downtown Plano” in-person at La Foofaraw, Bibliobar, Ten 20 Art Gallery or the Municipal Center or online.

Requirements for submission include:

  • Artwork must be sized to fit an 8×12″ canvas or a letter-sized piece of paper
  • Physical artwork must be labeled ‘ATTN: Michelle Hawkins
  • All works must include the child’s name, age and parent contact info

Artwork must be received by April 16. Winners will be announced by May 1. Eight artists will be selected to have their artwork displayed on banners throughout Downtown Plano and a $100 prize.
