Dallas-Fort Worth’s summer of soccer is kicking off soon with the World Cup, and Plano is celebrating with “Japan Day: Ultras Meets Plano,” an event before the night of the first featured match between Japan and the Netherlands.
The event, held at McCall Plaza in the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District, will include live music from a Japanese musician and a DJ, food and drinks, a full bar and a cultural exchange experience connecting Plano and Japan.
A supporter cheer exchange will take place between the Japan National Team supporters, Ultras Nippon and FC Dallas supporters, the Dallas Beer Guardians.
“This event is about more than soccer,” said Plano Mayor John Muns. “It’s about culture, community, music, and creating connections between people from around the world right here in Downtown Plano.”
The event will take place on Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m. and is open to everyone.
