Juneteenth is here, and so is the Texas heat. Celebrate freedom and cool off with Freedom Day, a community pool party, this evening at the Texas Pool.
With the slogan “Swim Across Texas,” the Texas-shaped saltwater pool has been a local landmark for the Plano community since 1961. At tonight’s gathering, attendees can expect barbecue grills, picnics, a snack bar and coolers with food and non-alcoholic beverages, according to Visit Plano.
The event will take place 5:30-7:30 p.m. today. Texas Pool members can attend at no charge, and admission to non-members is $10 per person. Babies 2 years old and under get in for free.
The Texas Pool is located at 901 Springbrook Drive in Plano.
